About Our Client

My client is a small Housing Association with an excellent reputation as an employer and a landlord. They own a stock of around 850 properties who also maintain another 650 properties on the behalf of a neighbouring RSL.

Job Description

A Maintenance Officer / Surveyor is required to:

  • To carry out diagnostic inspections & surveys under the instruction of the relevant manager in accordance with Group practice.
  • To prepare accurate technical advice in all matters instructed by the relevant manager.
  • Assess component life cycles & "green" credentials in all surveys.
  • Provide competent & thorough post-inspections/surveys on all matters (day to day maintenance, voids, and adaptations) as directed by the relevant line manager and in accordance with governing Group standards.
  • To provide effective liaison with DLO and/or contractor operatives to ensure the delivery of a top quartile service.
  • To be familiar with industry standards for the specific performance of the duties of this role including Schedule of Rates, operational regulatory framework, health & safety (including asbestos).

The Maintenance Officer / Surveyor will also be required to oversee some voids and aids and adaptations

The Successful Applicant

The Maintenance Officer / Surveyor must process the following skills and capabilities:

  • Experience or working in a large housing organisation
  • Experience of responsive repairs service, preferably in a housing environment
  • Knowledge of the Social Housing Sector and the building and construction industry
  • Project management experience
  • A clean current driving licence and use of a car
  • Ability and willingness to travel between properties across Yorkshire

What's on Offer

This is a temporary role with a start later this week or beginning of the next.

The hourly rate is between £16 and £20 per hour.

The role will run for around 3-4 months.
