About Our Client

Management Accountant - Growing and exciting SME based in Sussex

Job Description

  • Work with the Finance Manager to ensure that the Management Accounts (consolidated P&L, BS & Cash flow) are delivered to the CFO in line with agreed timetables.
  • Ensure that the Management Accounts delivered are accurate and all issues have been resolved before submission
  • Ensure all consolidation checks have been completed before submission and that TB's tie to the consolidated numbers.
  • Complete full balance sheet reconciliation for respective accounts below.
  • Prepare the journals/review the following P&L Lines:
  • Motor Expenses
  • Travel & subsistence
  • Entertainment
  • Professional Fees
  • Lease & Finance Charges
  • Depreciation
  • Other lines as requested
    • Ensure the Group balance sheet is correct and review all lines but specifically prepare/review the following:Review other creditors - credit cards
  • Other lines as requested
    • Assist the Finance Manager to ensure the Management Accounts continue to develop and address the reporting needs of the Shareholders/Senior Management.
    • Assist with the development and reporting of appropriate non-financial metrics (top 10 clients, head count etc.) and build these into the Management Accounts.

Budgets & Forecasts

  • Work with the Finance Manager to ensure that the Budgeted consolidated P&L, BS & Cash flow are delivered to the CFO in line with agreed timetables.
  • Prepare budget commentary for your specific accounts.
  • Prepare a revised forecast for your specific accounts quarterly or more frequently when required.
  • Assist in the 5 year plan for your specific accounts as requested.

Statutory Reporting

  • Work with the Finance Manager and the GFC to ensure that the year-end consolidated P&L, BS & Cash flow are delivered to the CFO in line with agreed timetables.
  • Prepare year end schedules for the auditors and liaise on any queries.
  • Assist in the preparation of the statutory accounts.

Other

  • Ensure that all reports are consistent, accurate and put in place automated checks that enable discrepancies to be quickly identified.
  • Ad hoc projects.

The Successful Applicant

CIMA/ACCA qualified

  • Previous experience in similar position
  • Excellent communication/interpersonal skills
  • High level skills of using Microsoft Office Packages
  • High level of Excel skills essential
  • Excellent organisation skills and ability to multi-task
  • Professional and approachable
  • Ability to work on own initiative and under pressure
  • Team player
  • Flexibility in approaching work situations
  • Able to work confidentially
  • Due to the location a car is essential
