My client are a very successful organisation who operate within the pharmaceutical market. They are a very well run organisation, with a strong balance sheet, and constantly looking to grow and evolve, through acquisitions and entering new geographical and business areas.

As part of their growth, they have a critical need for a strong candidate to support the growing areas of their business in order to facilitate further success.

Job Description

This is a very hands on a varied Management Accounts position, where you will have responsibility for the growing areas of the business. Your responsibilities will involve:

  • Working closely with the Financial Controller to produce timely monthly management accounts for various growing areas of the business, including some overseas subsidiaries
  • Responsibility for production of annual budgets
  • Ensuring full reconciliation of all balance sheet/profit & loss items are completed as part of the month end process
  • Investigation of issues as they arise
  • P&L analysis versus prior periods and budget
  • Making improvements to current processes, constantly seeking efficiency
  • Assist with External Audits and year end reporting
  • Submission of VAT returns
  • Identification of any system errors and implementation of procedures to prevent further issues

The Successful Applicant

My client is looking for the following in the successful applicant for the role

  • Qualified (CIMA/ACCA) or Qualified by experience
  • An inquisitive, problem solving nature is critical for success in this role
  • The ability to multi task is important as accounts are required for various discrete areas
  • You will be comfortable building relationships both within and outside finance
  • You will be proactive and look for solutions to problems
  • Strong core accounting background
  • Experience of problem solving
  • Commercial awareness
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills and be able to prioritise a busy workload
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong Excel skills are a pre-requisite
