About Our Client

Top 50 firm of Chartered Accountants, established well over 100 years ago. Our client handles a diverse client base in a range of different industries. The work is focused on owner managed businesses, with turnovers from £1 million up to £100 million. The client provides a wide range of services to include audit, accountancy, accounts support, payroll bureau, tax compliance, specialist tax services, M&A, and deals/transaction support.

Job Description

You will be working in a friendly team in Middlesex, where you will have connections with other departments such as Audit and Tax where you will focus your time in the accounts team producing and reviewing management and statutory accounts along with VAT and corporation tax work.

  • Bookkeeping and management accounts will accumulate to approximately 50% of the role
  • VAT returns - working on approximately 10 clients where you will review the VAT workings prior to submission of the quarterly VAT returns.
  • Payroll services will be a minimal part of the role although essential at times
  • Set-up of computerised bookkeeping/accounting systems where the practice takes on new clients needing advice to improve their accounting processes
  • Production of statutory accounts from trial balance, reviewing the output from the posting of trial balances, the processing of year end adjustments and the use of disclosure checklists by others in the team
  • Production of corporation tax computations will be prepared by others in the team however they be reviewed by the candidate prior to a final review by a tax specialist

The Successful Applicant

The successful Management candidate for this role will be/have:

  • Fully ACA/ACCA qualified
  • Organised and structured to work towards set deadlines
  • Team player
  • Enjoy building relationships with clients
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Technical ability to produce and review accounts to a high standard before submission to partner.
  • An excellent knowledge of SAGE Accounting software required and a working knowledge of other computerised accounting packages, to include cloud based, would be an advantage.
  • The candidate should hold a current driving licence and be a car owner
