Job Description

Duties include but are not limited to :

  • Preparation of the monthly EXCO financial summary. This includes analysis of published results, liaising with business lines and ongoing EXCO report development and enhancement
  • Calculation and posting of intra-group charges for premises costs and other services provided.
  • Preparation of quarterly expense accruals and prepayments including computing costs, real estate and bonus incentives.
  • Responsibility for preparation of the local annual expense plan for all Front Office and Support groups in partnership with Support and Business Line heads.
  • Contribute to the quarterly SBE (UK subsidiary) Board Finance report.
  • Assisting with development of new MIS procedures and related project work.
  • Assisting with improvement of Excel based routines.
  • Provision of daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly business line MIS as necessary.
  • Preparation, analysis and circulation of monthly business line and support group expense packs.
  • Assist with preparation of GBM Finance slides for semi-annual Town Hall presentation.
  • Deliver high quality and timely responses to Toronto Head Office requests/queries.
  • Prepare monthly/quarterly TSA/SLA calculations/journals.
  • Monitor TSA/SLA costs and submit to EO Tax for Residual Profit Sharing purposes.
  • Providing assistance to Toronto Accounts Payable function.
  • Performing ad hoc expense and variance analyses and general queries.

The Successful Applicant

  • Qualified accountant
  • A good working knowledge of the general ledger is an advantage.
  • The role requires a basic knowledge of the various Banking activities and operations.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team is a requirement.
  • Requires good numeracy skills and a good knowledge of MS Excel, preferably to macro level.
