Job Description

The key responsibilities of the Management and Financial Accountant will be to manage:

  • Monthly management accounts preparation and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Annual audit and production of financial statements and lead in engaging external auditors
  • Managing the travel related finances - attending travel meetings, updating the business, queries and raising sales invoices
  • Inter-company recharges
  • Bank reconciliations and credit control
  • Communicating financial statements across the wider organisation and to operational teams
  • Maintaining the financial systems which are currently in place
  • Supporting the financial controller with one off technical practical assignments
  • Meeting reporting deadlines on time to board directors and senior stakeholders
  • Various ad-hoc projects
  • Working closely with the other members of the finance team with a strategic and collaborative mindset

The Successful Applicant

This is a very high profile role and the successful Financial and Management Accountant will be:

  • Qualified accountant ACCA/ACA
  • Undertaking year end audit and financial statements production
  • Advanced excel skills
  • Well presented, confident candidate who can articulate verbally and by written presentation; ability to express complex ideas in a clear and straightforward manner
  • Must be able to take ownership and manage their own work flow with minimal input from management, set their own goals and plan how to achieve them - translate into actions and follow through to completion
  • Must appreciate the demands of working within a growing business. This will at times involve taking on unfamiliar tasks and managing their own workloads
  • Good organisational and time management skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Able to establish good cross departmental working relationships
  • Able to demonstrate discretion with sensitive information
