My client is a family business that has rapidly expanded over the last 10 years and are at a key stage of their growth plans. With new lines going in and demand ever increasing, there has become significant need to modernise their operations and put in some modern lean manufacturing techniques to improve their efficiency and help them to take their company to the next stage

Job Description

  • Provide leadership, direction and support to the site.
  • Development of the annual manufacturing strategy and deliver existing growth targets
  • Set objectives and monitor for the manufacturing teams ensuring these are communicated and understood.
  • Ensure that every team member has a clear defined understanding of their role within the team.
  • Review the performance of all key members of the team and regularly set SMART objectives and targets.
  • Develop appropriate training plans ensuring monthly reviews with the Shift Supervisors
  • Make sure formal and informal communication channels are used effectively focusing on visual impact.
  • Ensure all company procedures are applied fairly and consistently in line with GNP & BRC Develop the annual H&S plan for areas of responsibility, setting clear targets and objectives for the teams.
  • Budgetary control of direct costs together with departmental indirect cost, including Capital spend budget.
  • Develop a strong safety culture focusing on behavioural safety.
  • Identify and rectify the root causes of all incidents in a timely manner.
  • Reduce energy costs across the business
  • Develop a strong continuous improvement culture within the business.
  • Establish and maintain the KPI system ensuring the information generated is accurate.
  • Ensure daily focus on KPI performance through the daily line meetings, ensuring that trend analysis is carried out on key objectives.
  • Ensure that waste, labour material standards and energy efficiencies are adhered to by the team, and continue to seek to improve these standards.
  • Implement improvement strategies for machinery utilisation and monitor effectiveness of these strategies on a weekly basis.
  • Ensure time is allocated for asset care and utilised.

The Successful Applicant

You will be an experienced Manufacturing Manager with a proven track record in a High speed manufacturing environment with strong leadership with ability to engage and enthuse an experienced management team, ability to drive culture changes and embed new processes. Someone who is self-motivated with drive and ambition. A CI acumen will be essential for this role. You need to have worked in a food or beverage manufacturing environment.
