About Our Client

My client are a B2B organisation based in Hertfordshire/Bedfordshire who have grown almost exclusively throughout its 20-year history through word of mouth referral. with no no sales team or sales targets, they measure themselves against customer retention and work delivered.

However, they have now reached a point where they are looking to evolve and energise the next phase of growth by creating a new role of Marketing and Communications Manager to develop, implement and own the marketing and communications strategy.

Job Description

In summary, the Marketing and Communications Manager role will suit a motivated individual who is looking to take sole control of the Marketing and Communications activity for this exciting, fast growing company.

  • Developing marketing plans and strategies
  • Developing communication plans and strategies
  • Liaising and networking with a range of stakeholders including customers, colleagues, suppliers and partner organisations
  • Help formally define and communicate the company's core ethos
  • Communicating with target audiences
  • Ownership of the company's web-sites
  • Clearly defining the brand standards and ensuring their adoption and use within the organisation
  • Production of marketing materials including case studies, blogs, linked-in thought leadership articles etc.
  • Writing and proofreading copy
  • Liaising with designers and printers where absolutely required
  • Where appropriate, organising and attending events such as conferences, seminars, exhibitions etc.
  • Managing the budgets
  • Evaluating marketing campaigns
  • Monitoring competitor activity
  • Creating and uploading copy and images for the organisation's website
  • Writing and dispatching email marketing campaigns
  • Providing reports and analysis to management to demonstrate effective return on investment (ROI)
  • Researching new online media opportunities that may benefit the business including mobile, social media, development of blogs and forums
  • Designing social media engagement and brand awareness campaigns
  • Using web analytics software to monitor performance of websites and make recommendations for improvement
  • Establish an internal communications strategy in conjunction with senior managers
  • Ensure organisational initiatives and projects are successfully communicated to employees and existing clients
  • Developing and integrating content marketing strategies.

The Successful Applicant

  • Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills as well as the ability to source stories from employees and other stakeholders
  • Interpersonal skills that enable working with people at all levels
  • Possess the confidence to deal with senior executives and explain communication techniques
  • Problem-solving and negotiation skills
  • Initiative and the ability to offer new ideas
  • Organisational and planning skills to manage time and to meet deadlines and objectives
  • Good time-keeping skills to enable you to effectively manage to deadlines.

What's on Offer

Salary is between £35,000 and £40,000 depending on experience, based out of the Hertfordshire/Bedfordshire, recently renovated head office.
