Job Description

This role works cohesively with the operational marketing manager (B2C) in order to deliver a seamless and comprehensive marketing and communication solution to the wider business.

The role has 2 direct reports including a marketing executive and an intern for 6 months of the year

Main Duties:

  • To produce and review the company's B2B marketing and communication strategy



  • Devise and develop proactive initiatives to increase brand awareness with existing and potential upstream clients. To ensure the delivery of consistent branding across all areas of the Business Support Centre and the work undertaken by the departments based there


  • Support the business development team as required, ensuring that the presentation of the Company is consistent with agreed strategies and incorporates key messages and high quality material as expected throughout the organisation.


  • Adopt a proactive approach to corporate marketing and communications, ensuring that the development and adoption of innovation and technology solutions is core to forward looking strategies.


  • Initiate, create and continually improve a marketing tool-kit focused on current and potential upstream clients. To include all required hard and soft collateral, ensuring that the business is represented in-line with the wider corporate brand guidelines.


  • To develop and manage the company websites, ensuring that the Company positioning is consistent with the wider Group. Ensure all information is clearly and professionally presented and aligned to agreed strategies.


  • Identify, appoint and manage suitable partners to assist with the provision of professional services, including areas such as public relations, creative and design work.


  • Produce a monthly combined (B2B and B2C) Marketing Board Report detailing progress on agreed areas of focus and projects being delivered.


  • To manage agreed budgets, ensuring expenditure is approved and within expectation. Provide analysis and insight demonstrating the return on investment for principal activities.


  • To ensure marketing and communication initiatives are implemented as envisaged, on time and to budget.


  • Working with the IT Department, take a leading role in the management of the Company intranet site, with a particular focus on corporate communications and maximising its use and benefits for the Business Support Centre departments.


  • To develop and deliver with proactive planning and management departmental and strategic initiatives and projects.


  • To co-ordinate and run promotional and profile raising events that are aimed at improving awareness and knowledge of the Company by existing and potential clients, especially in key sectors.


  • Devise and lead on the delivery of comprehensive proactive and reactive public relations campaigns, including liaison with national and local press, and trade journals, ensuring all material is approved prior to publication.


  • To develop and lead on the delivery of a high profile and effective social media strategy.
  • Deliver a proactive, comprehensive and engaging internal communications programme, ensuring engagement with people at all levels throughout the business.

The Successful Applicant

  • The candidate must be creative and a true people person with strong internal stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong organisational skills are essential.
  • Digital experience would be preferable.
  • Copywriting skills are essential for PR related activities.
  • People managers are needed to develop and grow the marketing team.

Basic pay £35-37k per annum
