Job Description

The Marketing Manager will provide professional expertise, particularly digital expertise to support a Faculty with marketing and communication matters and help develop effective Faculty marketing and communications strategy and plans.

Main activities and responsibilities

  1. Advise on the development of a Faculty marketing and communications strategy which is aligned with University and Departmental strategic objectives.
  2. Work closely with the Deputy Director, Marketing and Communications and Faculty senior management to understand the Faculty's core business objectives in order to set targets and prepare plans.
  3. Produce plans and co-ordinate activities across the full range of market segments including undergraduate, postgraduate, UK, International and professional and commercial programmes. Ensure such plans and activities are evidence-based and support the achievement of challenging recruitment and reputation objectives.
  4. Manage a Faculty focused marketing team to deliver plans which encompass digital, public relations, internal communications, alumni relations, events and stakeholder engagement.
  5. Establish key performance indicators to monitor progress and achievement and ensure objectives and impact are delivered.
  6. Manage the Faculty recruitment and marketing budget and measure return on investment for different activities.
  7. With support from senior colleagues, develop and maintain up-to-date knowledge on market size and other market trends and developments.
  8. Specify and source market intelligence, working with the market intelligence team as required. Establish and maintain and intelligence-led approach to the planning and delivery of marketing and communications activity.
  9. Contribute to the development of the portfolio, pricing, marketing and student recruitment strategies by preparing analysis and reports using market and competitor data, survey results and enquiry and admissions data.
  10. Provide advice and guidance to the Faculty's senior management team on the consequences of market research to help inform portfolio development as well as the content of marketing and communication plans.
  11. Work with academic colleagues across the Faculty to provide professional marketing and communications advice.
  12. Work with Faculty staff to develop their knowledge and delivery of outstanding customer service to increase the quality of engagement with key stakeholders for recruitment and marketing purposes. Report on and share recommendations, training and best practice initiatives.
  13. Lead on the organisation and delivery of open day and related events

The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate or the role of Marketing Manager will have experience of team management alongside technical capabilities in multi channel Marketing .
