My client is a leading Aerospace business based in the West Midlands

Job Description

List the essential functions (i.e. key responsibilities with expected end results) which must be accomplished in order to fulfil the purpose of your position as described above.


Manage supplier order book and monitor supplier performance. Conduct regular supplier reviews on the supplier's site and at the plant. Support & lead improvement initiatives.


Utilise system reports and customer feedback to recognise the need to expedite material to meet customer's needs.


Expedites material, where required to meet shortfall between current plan and customer order requirements.


Initiates required documentation and/or system transactions to allocate, purchase, or reschedule material as required and monitors timely placement of purchase orders placed by the Shared Service Centre.


Manage supplier returns from initial rejection through to replacement of parts.


Respond to requests for information from customers, both internal and external, supporting and attending customer centric meetings as required.


Analyse and manages inventory levels in relation to customer requirements to meet profit and inventory targets and goals.


Process requisitions for MRO spend including ensuring appropriate approvals are in place.


Supports cost reduction projects and improvement initiatives to achieve overall business objectives.


Maintain data integrity to meet relevant targets.


Understand and comply with regulatory requirements with particular regard to ITAR and AS9100.

The Successful Applicant

  • Degree qualified or CIPS qualified (part- qualified)
  • Knowledge of materials planning systems (MRP/ERP) requirements and order generation process logic
  • Understanding of Supply Chain Management operational concepts surrounding production planning, inventory control, purchasing, logistics, stockroom operations, and shipping/receiving
  • Mfg Pro
  • Microsoft Office knowledge
  • Working knowledge of inter company purchase procedures and processes in an international context
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Process Variation Reduction (Six Sigma) concepts and tool sets as they relate to materials management

This position is paying between £25,000 and £28,000
