Job Description

As a Materials Controller you will:

The candidate will be accountable for the supply and demand of parts across the company network. The aim of the role is to drive availability and efficiency.

The point of contact for the business in regards to queries and issues for all parts and raw materials and will deal with vendors on a weekly basis to fix any challenges that might arise.

Over a working week the materials controller will run standard reports in order to generate stock needs, liaise with suppliers and haulage and monitor stock levels and flow. They will also run ad-hoc reports in order to support any decision making across this area of the business.

The post holder will work closely with all external and internal suppliers and departments to ensure the efficient operation across the Materials department.

Key responsibilities:

  • Stock level control for raw materials and parts
  • Out of stocks control for raw materials and parts
  • Ensure all required information is communicated to all departments
  • Fully utilise MRP system
  • Work with suppliers and inter-departmentally to ensure smooth transition of raw materials and parts
  • Analysis of trends
  • Ad-Hoc analysis
  • Weekly/monthly performance reporting

The Successful Applicant

The Successful candidate must have Manufacturing and Production experience from industries such as Aerospace/Automotive.

  • Minimum three years' experience in inventory control and/or production scheduling.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of MRP and Material Management systems (I.e. SAP, JDE.) systems.
  • Knowledge of common Microsoft office software.
  • High-Volume Manufacturing experience will be essential
