Job Description

What are you responsible for a Merchandise Manager?

  • Delivering weekly view of stock and availability with actions for the Trade meeting.
  • Collaborating with the Buying and Logistics teams the flow of stock into the business in a cost effective and efficient way, ensuring the merchandisers maintain the appropriate level of communication with supply chain
  • Ensuring that the critical path and the progress to launch is managed and communicated
  • Providing standardised and consistent documentation and management reporting
  • Providing analysis on range performance, identifying and proposing actions
  • Planning, optimisation and review of store space by the appropriate grading, ranging and number of ways for the stores
  • Motivating, developing and training of the Merchandising function

The Successful Applicant

What technical knowledge do you need?

  • In depth knowledge of a broad range of product industries
  • In depth knowledge of the planning & trading complexities associated with multi-channel retailing of own branded merchandise including the understanding of the efficient management of a global supply chain
  • In depth knowledge or range building analysis & the process set up to enable robust analysis & implementation
  • In depth knowledge of the processes and systems required to support the setting and monitoring of forecasts, stock plans and budgets for sales and profit
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with senior managers and manage an operational team, set targets and ensure they are met
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills to optimise trading performance
  • Able to fully utilise the relevant IT support systems, and to be fully conversant with standard business desktop applications.
