Job Description

  • Leading and managing the Merchandise Planning team - continuously growing and supporting sales of circa £550 million performance and delivering high levels of team engagement
  • Setting and delivering target availability levels across Retail and Digital customer offers and fulfillment points
  • Setting Annual Stock budgets and managing the business Open to Buy with stock of circa £90 million
  • Improving sales and stock related cash flow through improving stock turn- Measuring and continuously improving forecast accuracy
  • Influencing the commercial agenda to improve supply chain performance- Ensuring seasons and promotions are effectively planned, communicated and executed
  • Ensuring the physical flow of products is effectively planned with Distribution
  • Contributing to the Supply strategy - being a key player in supporting with the delivery of projects
  • Maintaining an in depth understanding of macro factors affecting supply of stock to Halfords
  • Developing relationships with key suppliers
  • Working in partnership with the Trading team to help manage negotiations to improve supplier lead time and manage availability
  • Managing and improving Vendor On Time In Full performance
  • Working closely and effectively with other departments across Halfords Group at all levels

  • Building and leading highly engaged and high performing teams
  • Excellent sales and stock planning experience
  • Developing and implementing value added change programs
  • Driving improvements in stock turn and product availability
  • Supporting evolving customer propositions, including direct channels
  • Extensive understanding of Supply Chain techniques and practices
  • Strong analytical, negotiation and numerical skills- Solid commercial acumen
  • Stakeholder engagement, influencing and management
  • Far East sourcing
