About Our Client

Our client is an established fashion retailer who is looking for a Merchandiser to hit the ground running and become an influential member of the merchandising team.

Job Description

The ideal candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Identify risks and opportunities and incorporate these into the planning process to maximise profit
  • Construct and plan the optimum range for the target market by balancing price architecture, fashion/risk, colour, size and mixes throughout the stores
  • Manage the key profit drivers, sales, margins, mark-down and stock turnover to maximise profitability
  • Manage the department's reaction to 'Open to Buy', manage risk and maximise our best sellers.
  • Working with your team to understand previous season performance and using ' lessons learnt ' to help formulate the future seasons strategies
  • Constantly monitor and review store & channel performance in order to maximise profit
  • Together with the Buyer, ensure the critical path is realistic and achievable by working through the detail of each stage and ensuring the decisions are communicated to suppliers in good time
  • Review Previous Seasons and produce SWOT Analysis with supporting information.
  • Create category level product mix using history, SWOT and SMT Plan.
  • Ensure that the WSSI is updated with the buy plan and the KPI's are signed off.
  • Ensure that scheduling and Ideals are in place for your area of responsibility.
  • Build Layout plans in conjunction with buying and VM.
  • Manage the order books both in season and preseason to ensure that the most accurate information is always in the system.
  • Manage the Stock seasonality within the WSSI.

The Successful Applicant

The ideal candidate will have the following skills:

  • Numerate with excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Experience in building, generating and understanding trading reports.
  • Be highly commercial with a strong sense of business acumen and a true trading mentality.
