The position of Multi-site Unit Manager is crucial to this success, as the sites managed by this position produce 1.3 million tonnes per annum of product for the wider business and customers. Job Description

Reporting to the Area Operations Manager, the main activity of the Multi-site Unit Manager involves leading, directing and managing the operational team to achieve its performance objectives. The performance emphasis for this unit includes;

  • Health and Safety: Operating to the highest level of health and safety objectives in line with the companies Health and Safety Plan. Action a plan of continuous improvement in this area.
  • Environmental: Operating to the highest level of environmental objectives in line with the businesses Environmental Management Plan. Action a plan of continuous improvement in this area.
  • Compliance: Ensure all statutory legislation and company regulations are adhered to with respect to all operational activities.
  • Operations: Achieve optimum production levels in line with commercial activity at the lowest operation cost. Continually advance operational improvements to improve efficiency with the production functions.
  • Distribution: Working with the logistics function to ensure operational procedures are such that highest customer service levels can be achieved at the most efficient operational cost.
  • Quality: Working with the technical function to ensure operational procedures are such that the highest quality levels are achieved at the most efficient operational cost.
  • Business Analysis: Working with the Operations Manager to ensure all operational management information is accurate, relevant and is used effectively to assist in the management of the business and the progression of all profit enhancing opportunities.

Key measures for the role are:

  • Site profit performance
  • Operating KPI's
  • Capex project performance and post appraisals
  • Statutory and company compliance levels
  • Customer satisfaction levels

The Successful Applicant

We are seeking a Multi-site Unit Manager with experience of working in aggregates, cement manufacturing, mining or a similar industry. Managers with a Section 8, or candidates who are within reach of this, are encouraged to apply!

Candidates must have good communication skills, drive to push performance for themselves and the team, as well as a customer first focus, ensuring strong communication with both internal and external customers.
