Job Description

You will:

  • Provide support to lawyers through the efficient management of documents (using document management software, or external software) including indexing, document collation, document organisation and evidence analysis.
  • Conduct legal research, on request
  • Liaise with counsel and other external parties as required.
  • Draft minutes/agendas for Lawyer's meetings and chair if needed.
  • Attend Determinations Panel (DP)/Tribunal/Court hearings when required to provide administrative support.
  • Create and maintain an index of documents for disclosure, undertake disclosure exercises as required, format and produce legal documents, arrange service of legal case documents on external parties, file documentation with the DP/Tribunal/Court to required deadlines.

The Successful Applicant

  • Client-focused approach
  • Very strong IT skills, including experience of standard IT software applications (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Professional) and document management systems
  • Relevant legal qualification essential (e.g. law degree, CPE, LPC, ILEX).
  • Previous paralegal experience, in particular in a commercial civil litigation setting desirable, but not essential.
    • Knowledge of Court / Regulatory procedures, Data Protection Act / Freedom of Information
    • Working knowledge of Civil Procedure Rules desirable, but not essential.
