Job Description

As well as leading on key strategic projects, the Generalist HR duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage recruitment process from initial engagement to on-boarding;
  • Writing, updating and reviewing HR policies and procedures and ensuring they are consistently applied;
  • Preparing permanent employment contracts;
  • Performance management; guiding Managers on sales targets performance reviews and escalation process;
  • Inducting new staff into the business;
  • Review existing HR practices constantly according to changing employment legislation;
  • Provide proactive and reactive advice on all aspects of HR to managers;
  • Provide employee relations support and advice, overseeing process;
  • Support, monitor and implement the appraisal process;
  • Ensure compliance with the UKVI (UKBA) and manage staff working on Tier 2 Certificate of Sponsorships;
  • Maintain and update the UKVI (UKBA) SMS system;
  • Assist the Accounts department with payroll processing, providing details of new starters and leavers;
  • Dealing with staff queries i.e. pensions, holiday entitlement, sick leave and parental leave entitlements;
  • Provide HR support and guidance during change management i.e. restructuring etc;
  • Ad hoc office management duties;
  • Overseeing all HR administration including employee files (admin support provided).

The Successful Applicant

  • CIPD qualified;
  • Current, working knowledge of the UKVI SMS system and management of Certificates of Sponsorship (Tier 2) is essential;
  • Experience leading on strategic projects and involved in strategic decision making;
  • Previous experience working as a Senior HR Advisor or as a standalone HR Generalist in a small to medium sized business;
  • Current, working knowledge of UK employment law;
  • Previous experience coaching managers including coaching workshops;
  • Ability to build relationships at all levels including senior management and Director level;
  • Excellent time management and organisation skills;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills;
  • Ability to work autonomously and on own initiative.

£50,000 - £60,000 pro rata
