Job Description

  1. To ensure the group has timely and reliable data on impact, value for money and programme performance, including proxies where impact data is not available
  2. To update, implement and oversee the framework of performance indicators, and ensure they are cost effective and suitable for a range of internal and external stakeholders
  3. Work with the marketing team and directors to ensure accurate and reliable reporting of impact and performance to an external audience, particularly focusing on the Annual Report
  4. Working closely with delivery teams and senior management, design, implement and oversee reporting of those indicators as well as other management information on performance
  5. To work with the evaluation team to analyse performance data and create management information that is insightful and enables senior and middle management to make decisions
  6. To work with evaluation specialists within the department to oversee the design and implementation of proportionate methods for evaluating the charity's impact, taking account of the range of interested stakeholders, and founders in particular
  7. Quality assure all work on evaluation and reporting, accounting to the Head of Research and Evaluation
  8. Work with the manager of the Quality Management System to ensure appropriate programme performance evaluation standards are applied
  9. To further their reputation as an organisation that places considerable emphasis on robust evaluation of impact
  10. To develop new indicators of the impact for new programme areas with the programme teams.
  11. To manage strategic evaluation projects and oversee others managing projects
  12. To provide strategic direction on performance reporting and evaluation, including reporting to the Executive, Board of Trustees and the Audit Committee
  13. To line manage Research Analysts

The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate will be educated to degree level in a subject which provided training in economics, statistics and/or research methods. Experience of small team management in a similar area will also be an advantage.

Experience in designing, implementing and/or overseeing corporate monitoring, evaluation and learning frameworks will help hugely with the rigours of the role.
