Job Description

We are seeking an established Planner/Buyer who is able to show tenacity, determination, resilience and above all a real team player. This is a fast moving environment where you will need to demonstrate on a daily basis the drive to succeed, methodical approach and a "can do" attitude.

  • Prepare monthly Material and Labour plan for the stream

  • Manage internal and external Kanban programs. Includes setting Kanban levels, trigger points, safety stock levels, and lead times. Update KPI/Tactical boards with current supply information
  • Schedule future production plans
  • Effectively communicate forecasted requirements to external suppliers
  • Run assembly scheduling tool and level load plan with new data received
  • Evaluate and act upon the material requirements plan (MRP) for assigned commodities. Generate and adjusts purchase orders and/or shop work orders to support production schedules daily. Effectively communicates areas of concern to appropriate departments, individuals and/or suppliers. Inputs, maintains, and adjusts records or transactions to ensure system validity
  • Champion the imperatives of Operational Excellence and Lean principles through the supply chain to ensure best practice
  • Interfaces with Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, Strategic Sourcing, and Suppliers to resolve quality and/or delivery issues

You are a central point in this Supply Chain function and integral in future growth plans. You own your role and this leads to a constantly evolving position.

The Successful Applicant

To be considered for this position you will ideally come from an Automotive, Engineering background and be degree level educated.

  • Minimum 3 years Planning background
  • Direct exposure to implementing lean concepts (Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen Leadership, 5S)
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving/decision making skills; ability to make timely, effective, fact based decisions. Includes a strong working knowledge of word processing, spread sheet and scheduling software
  • Knowledge of supplier qualification processes and supplier performance metrics
  • Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to perform and produce results in multifunctional teams in a dynamic work environment
