Job Description

As part of the PMO Manager role your main responsibilities will be to:

  • Build a completely new PMO function within a complex business and IT environment
  • Establish the PMO capability through robust planning, policies, procedures and governance.
  • Work and influence St Andrew's Healthcare's Change Board to ensure they are delivering the IT agenda and strategy in line with what is expected from the business.
  • Ensure that within a 5 year period 85% of projects are delivered to time and budget.
  • Support project sponsors in the use of approach and methodology
  • Engage with key business stakeholders to address programme level issues.
  • Support risk owners to develop mitigation plans and to ensure they take accountability at an individual level for the progress and completion of key milestones
  • Coach and mentor the IT programme management team to ensure they are delivering to plan and in line with outlined processes.
  • Work with business owners to assure project and outcome delivery
  • Manage matrix teams of project managers and project support officers

The Successful Applicant

To be successful in your application for the PMO Manager position you will:

  • Have a strong track record within PMO management and demonstrable experience of either setting up a PMO function from scratch or successfully completing complex turnaround programmes.
  • Be able to demonstrate high levels of emotional intelligence with examples of how you have successfully influenced senior stakeholders to improve efficiencies.
  • Have strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and communicate visions with both IT and business stakeholders
  • Have a meticulous approach to process, policies and governance and a track record of implementing and enforcing these within delivery environments
  • Ideally be either Prince 2 or MSP certified.
