A market leading manufacturing organisation looking for a PMO Manager

Job Description

Due to continued growth the organisation is looking for a PMO Manager to setup and manage a PMO office to standardise execution of projects in line with PRINCE2 and Agile delivery methodologies.

The PMO Manager will be responsible for improving the consistency, predictability and efficiency of project and programme delivery. You will build on best practice and standard methodologies to build an established, developed and efficient PMO function.


  • Develop and maintain project management standards, processes, templates and procedures
  • Support the setting up of individual project processes, procedures and tools
  • Support the Project/Programme Managers in maintaining and reporting of project finances;
  • Support the use of planning, estimating, tracking and risk analysis tools and techniques;
  • Document development and creation
  • Ensure the completeness and regular maintenance of project plans; including an up-to-date repository of projects underway and requests pending review;
  • Support development of the management of risk
  • Reporting - weekly & monthly
  • Ensure Project Review Boards and Steering committees are coordinated and supported
  • Set up and administration of project change control and risk management processes
  • Tracking and reporting on progress of project milestones and plans;
  • Auditing
  • Evaluate project performance and recommend changes where performance is found to be unsatisfactory;
  • Influence and support the implementation of a unified way of working and delivery
  • Organise and facilitate project workshops/updates
  • Continuous improvement
  • Roll out improvement activities and or training as appropriate.

The Successful Applicant

The person:

  • Experience of working as a PMO Manager or Senior PMO Analyst
  • Understanding of PM & BA processes, technologies and deliverables
  • Experience of project life cycles
  • Strong influencing skills
  • Strong stakeholder management skills
  • Risk management/prevention skills/experience/approaches
  • Experience of the development of documentation.
  • Ability to manage a PMO team
  • Able to advise others on project management methods, principles, techniques and tools.
  • Proven understanding of financial management within a Programme or project
  • Strong working knowledge of Project tools
  • PRINCE 2/Agile - Desirable
