Job Description

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Policy Advisor (Skills & Employment). You will be:

  • Responsible for the development and delivery of policy on all relevant employment and skills related issues. On-going priority areas of activity include minimising the adverse impact of new and existing legislation and regulation on the industry and promoting the role that the industry fulfils in employment and skills provision
  • Manage the work programme of the Employment and Skills Member, including through the development of detailed submissions responding to relevant Government consultations.
  • Produce briefing papers, policy documents, newsletters and other written communications;
  • Manage existing working relations with key stakeholders within the UK government

The Successful Applicant

You will have:

  • A consummate communicator with a strong knowledge and understanding of current relevant policy and emerging legislation.
  • An understanding of the key issues within both employment and skills policy both within government and beyond.
  • Able to demonstrate both the ability and credibility to work alongside senior management and to represent the orgnaisation to external contacts, including government officials, business organisations and NGOs.
