Job Description

The PR Manager will protect and promote the brand and reputation in the national, regional, lifestyle print and broadcast media.

Key Responsibilities to include:

 *Creating a PR and external communications calendar and plan that supports the aims and 'business' strategy of the organisation.

*Proactively seeking out, packaging and placing stories that are relevant and appealing to the media
 *Line management of a press officer.
 *Rapidly responding to relevant stories within the national and specialist press .
 *Creating a PR and communications tool-kit for journalists to include biographies of directors and key activities that the organisation engages in
 *Being responsible for preparing, writing and distributing press releases
 *Handling media enquiries effectively, efficiently and helpfully
 *Working closely with the Social Media Manager to create consistent messages
 *Attending events, representing the organisation - acting as an ambassador for the charity
 *Creating and hosting press events
 *Writing quotes and delivering comments for print, radio and TV appearances
 *Fielding press phone and email enquiries
 *Tracking media coverage and industry developments.
 *Assisting the Group Marketing Director with requested tasks eg preparing board reports
 *Covering other tasks when team members are out of the office.

The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate for the role of PR Manager will have experience of working in a PR and Communications role and of managing local and national media relations strategy.
