Job Description

The main objective for the position is to strategically lead and develop all regional press and stakeholder relations; proactive and reactive.

  1. Work directly with each Area Managing Director creating and delivering the PR vision for the region, ensuring enhanced business performance though improved press & stakeholder relations
  2. Engage key internal stakeholders in the PR vision i.e. Leadership team; Regional Marketing team and the wider business ensuring they have clarity on opportunities
  3. Ensure PR supports and integrates with all other marketing communication channels, particularly social, web and offline campaigns
  4. Grow patronage through effective PR and Stakeholder management, ensuring all messaging is on-message and in line with group strategy
  5. Report to the business (formally and informally) on PR performance; manage feedback from key stakeholders and lead improvement actions
  6. Devise and take ownership of the PR budget i.e. manage resources ensuring that variance to budget is managed and overall costs are not exceeded
  7. Identify and develop opportunities and synergies across the wider group through the development of effective working relationships
  8. Write dynamic and effective press releases, managing relations across a wide range of media outlets for suitable distribution
  9. Use appropriate software for monitoring all media coverage - evaluate and prepare reports where appropriate
  10. Manage and implement all opportunities to recognise and champion company successes within marketing and other work streams, such as relevant awards events and additional media coverage
  11. Proactively seek out trends and new developments within media and communication channels; apply this knowledge and inform and educate where appropriate
  12. Assist with any other communications-related projects as and when required

The Successful Applicant

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent ideally within a communications led course
  • Demonstrable experience within a busy B2C PR working environment with experience in proactive and reactive PR and Stakeholder management
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of PR/media environment, trends and best practice
  • First-class written and verbal communication skills
  • Significant experience of media monitoring and management tools
  • Knowledge and/or experience of reactive PR/press office would also be an advantage
  • Ability to work flexibly, either on own initiative or as part of a team
  • Confident manner, with the ability to communicate and build relationships at multiple levels and to a range of internal audiences
  • An infectious enthusiasm and the desire to work as part of successful team.
