Job Description

The successful candidate will be advising clients on their tax and estate planning options, preparing Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney, trusts and trust documents, and family partnerships. In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to advise on inheritance and capital gains tax issues and potential mitigation strategies alongside the firms leading tax advisors and external professionals that are market leaders in their respective disciplines. The role will include providing clients with tax efficient solutions in areas such as passing wealth to future generations. Deceased estate administration work relating to complex estates is likely to be involved but this is not expected to be a major component. Advising non-resident clients and trustees in relation to UK tax legislation affecting them and their investments, including pre-immigration and emigration planning, distribution strategies, structuring and de-enveloping.

The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate will have a detailed and working knowledge of private client work and the usual gamut of Wills, trusts and settlements within tax planning and asset protection. An understanding of Capital Taxes (IHT/CGT/SDLT) is a bonus. The successful candidate will be ambitious and looking for that next step in their career even if they are only 2-3 year's PQE although more senior candidates are actively encouraged to apply. There is more than one opportunity. The successful candidate will also be self-motivated with an excellent track record to date. Strong leadership experience or ability (irrespective of level of PQE), supervision and communication skills are required given the career opportunity on offer. The ability to be proactive and reactive in addressing clients affairs and requirements as well as the ability to get on well with clients who cover a broad spectrum and work well and closely with other senior and junior members of the firm as well as external third party professionals. Strong research and drafting skills are also required.
