The client is a globally renowned FMCG brand with a strategic Manufacturing site and head office in the East Midlands.

Job Description

  • Supporting/leading Logistics tenders, providing robust information for tender creation, data analysis, cost modelling and supporting supplier evaluation and selection processes.
  • Working closely with UK Logistics function to ensure smooth transition during supplier implementation, including developing KPIs and ongoing Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) framework.
  • Ensuring compliance to all guidelines, using or developing further best practices.
  • Being UK Lead for EU and Global led projects, ensuring that UK constraints or complexities are considered within tenders.
  • Developing and lead sourcing strategy for multiple categories.
  • Supporting the delivery of Tactical Buy Productivity and ensure compliance to the process.
  • Working on other Logistics areas depending on business priorities.

The Successful Applicant

  • Previous procurement experience, with the ability to negotiate on multiple variables and utilising different styles, ideally within an Operations environment.
  • Experience of negotiating at a senior level.
  • Experience of successfully managing 3rd party relationships and driving continuous improvement within a contract.
  • Strong experience in influencing multiple stakeholders resulting in decisions / business alignment.
  • Comfortable communicating with people at all levels. Remains calm, confident and professional at all times.
  • Self-starter who can work on own initiative. Strong project management skills with clear demonstration of on time and on cost delivery.
  • Experience writing, implement and managing suppliers to contracts. Able to interpret legal jargon, and detail focused.
  • Understanding of cost elements, how to read financial and KPI data and how to capture productivity. Ability to analyse data and present findings.
  • Good working knowledge of logistics, in particular 3rd party and awareness of market and key technologies, including fleet and transport is desirable but not essential.
