Job Description

Customer (internal and external)

  • Working collaboratively with the Customer Support Centre to agree and align the product development plan with business functional plans and corporate strategy.

  • Understanding stakeholders requirements and impacts whilst maintaining a strong customer focus

  • Working with both customers, colleagues, and suppliers to develop products that meet and exceed expectations

  • Leading benchmarking sessions and competitor reviews as required

  • Being the expert on emerging food/market trends, the customer, and competitor activity.

  • Gathering necessary information to provide insights and direction when compiling product development briefs


  • Communicating the Product Development plan in a simple and engaging way

  • Coaching my team members to maximise sales and deliver profit in line with agreed targets


  • Project Managing any Product Development 'hot spots'

  • Defining and clearly communicating priorities and progress to all key stakeholders

  • Using the designed framework to develop a robust product development activity plan for the short , medium and long term

  • Owning the overall capacity, timeliness and quality of the activities forming the plan ensuring successful delivery and minimal impact/ disruption to our site

  • Ensuring all development briefs are channelled and governed through the agreed process, delivering clear and documented communications of what is and is not agreed.

Sales, Profit, Cash

  • Negotiating and influencing, prioritising required activities with senior stakeholders to increase sales and profits by improving current products and introducing relevant new products in to the own brand categories

  • Manage agreed cost saving targets via recipe cost engineering & alternate product sourcing initiatives
