About Our Client

My Client have been in distribution for over 80 years. They began life distributing parts to the automotive aftermarket. Today automotive parts remain a strong part of their overall offering however their portfolio has expanded and now carries over 100,000 product lines covering the Maintenance and Accessories, Travel and Leisure and Retail sectors.

They are the partner of choice for a number of leading automotive brands, handling part or all of their UK distribution. They have national network of branches gives them the ability to have overnight stock supply supported by same day service, something no-one else in the market can offer.

Job Description

  • Price bench marking against market to validate programmes market competitiveness
  • Collect and analyse all data which measure product performance and take agreed action that ensure maximisation of sales and profit
  • Develop and enhance relationships with suppliers and ensure they understand and meet the businesses requirements
  • Management of cross reference and alternates database ensuring minimum of 95% coverage across the category
  • Increase category awareness through regular contact with field sales team, presenting category updates, gathering feedback
  • To understand the needs of the customer and develop the product range through effective NPD to meet those needs
  • Regularly undertake product and supplier reviews and present Management proposals for appropriate steps to maximise performance
  • Communication plans (PR, editorials) for all media to all audiences internal and external inclusive of factor and garage level
  • Analysis of warranty date and provide suppliers with direction on improvements to the speed of resolving claims, technical information on failures and other opportunities for improvements
  • Proposals for catalogue and on line trading developments
  • Accurate maintenance of electronic trading systems
  • Manage electronic catalogues to ensure they hold all supporting information such as images, technical information, bulletins
  • To manage the suppliers in order to continually improve stock availability and maximise stock turn. Regular review meetings with NDC supply chain on product flow, availability, packaging, warranty issues and stock cleanses
  • Be proactive and creative in suggesting and influencing marketing and commercial initiatives to ensure product performance is continually enhanced
  • Be in a position to advise sales how best to sell the products within your category

Articulate, with the right level of communication skills to deal with various levels of stakeholders, up to Board level

Commercially astute
