Job Description

The Product Manager role will include a variety of tasks including the following:-

  • To provide information and training to dealers and sales staff, highlighting features and competitive advantages of new and existing products my client offer in comparison with competitor products.
  • Create and maintain product information including website, pricing, product guides, bid specifications, magazine ads, brochures, sales bulletins etc.
  • In conjunction with the Marketing department to recommend product positioning for advertising/website promotional and sales material and ensure product message is communicated correctly.
  • Attend trade shows, sales meetings, dealer meetings etc to promote the products.
  • Assist in the resolution of dealer enquiries and complaints and maintain effective working relationships with dealer and customer.
  • Gather and analyse industry and competitive sales information to make recommendations for strategies to increase Company sales.
  • Identify the need for new product development and existing product improvements.
  • Guide engineering and product development from a sales and marketing standpoint.
  • Support and work with sales and marketing staff and dealers to achieve department and corporate objectives and manage resources.
  • To assist with new business projects
  • Work with Sales and Marketing teams to develop sales campaigns
  • To undertake market research, providing data to Business Development Manager which might lead to sales growth opportunities, including competitor pricing, benefits etc

The Successful Applicant

The Product Manager:

  • Extensive knowledge of the Construction industry along with the same level of knowledge of Construction Machinery and their applications.
  • Knowledge of Construction Machinery sold within the market.
  • Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written, including report writing
  • Proven experience as a confident presenter/trainer
  • Creative and adaptive problem solving skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Excellent IT skills ie Microsoft package
  • Ability to prioritise work to ensure that all key deadlines are met.
  • Focused, well organised with a professional approach
  • Full driving licence
  • Within an hour commute of Thame, North Oxfordshire

What's on Offer

Up to £40,000 based on experience

Company car

Home Based Contract

10 - 20% bonus based on performance

Pension - 10% contribution from my client


22 days holiday (rising to 25) plus 8 bank holiday
