My client for this piece of recruitment is a global chemicals company based in Cambridgeshire, but with sites all over the world. Job Description

Sales & Operations plan Capture, analyse, anticipate and communicate issues that potentially impact customers, costs, production or purchasing at site level for middle to long term horizon.

  • Provide Rough Cut Capacity plan
  • Analyse demand fluctuation and impacts on business and site
  • Propose alternatives when required for mitigate business risks
  • Validate & update system replenishment parameters (Safety Stock, Re-Order Point, Economic Order Quantities, Lead Time)
  • Give guidance to and manage production scheduling activities
  • Supervise and oversee the creation of Purchase Requisitions by Purchasing Officers

Production planning Receive, coordinate and prioritise the demand for stock replenishment (MTS) and direct customer orders (MTO) by :

  • defining and validating production plan
  • ensuring the follow up of deviations between planning and execution
  • measuring performance on changes
  • defining raw materials needs and impacts

Projects & standardisation Work in coordination with centralised PMO to define, model, test and implement planning related projects. Propose process optimisation and participate actively in the data standardisation between functions and sites.

  • Redesign and alignment of business process
  • Optimisation of the working processes
  • Development of standardised metrics
  • Harmonisation across EU-sites of methodologies

The Successful Applicant

The successful applicant for the Production Planner role will have:

  • A Degree in Business or Supply Chain or equivalent experience
  • Commercial exposure and ideally work experience in a production planning related function
  • Language skills :Fluent English, German a plus
  • Ideally APICS qualification or equivalent experience required
  • Strong project/process management skills and a good understanding of commercial priorities.
  • Good communication, interpersonal and persuasion skills will be required to be successful in this position.
  • Innovation and be a team player, detail-oriented and with the capacity to see the big picture.
  • Proficiency in use of IT tools (SAP, excel, access, BI)
