Job Description

The successful candidate for my clients Berkshire site Production Team Leader will fulfil the following responsibilities -

  • Ensure safe work environment is maintained in accordance with Company and Safety policies and procedures.
  • Ensure quality product is produced.
  • Create a daily production plan for the work area.
  • Responsible for following standard work instructions of yourself and your team.
  • Maintain and organise a clean working environment.
  • Lead by example.
  • Monitor employee performance and provide timely feedback to management.
  • Assist with Continuous Improvement.
  • Have great communication with team members and other Team Leads and their members.
  • Run MRP to aid in daily schedule creation.
  • Create daily Shortage Report.
  • Utilize Item Availability.
  • Put finished goods on hand in Mapics in real time.
  • Maintenance MO's when deviations occur.
  • Monitor inventory levels of floor requested parts and order as necessary.
  • Productivity Measures.
  • Enter time cards at the end of shift.
  • Accurately scrap out all nonconforming parts at the end of each shift.
  • Cross Training Matrix.
  • Alert appropriate Quality personnel when RGA/repack is complete.

The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate for the Production Team Leader role will provide evidence of the following -

  • Previous leadership or positions of responsibility.
  • Background within assembly or production.
  • Previous knowledge of performing continuous improvement projects are desirable.
  • PC knowledge especially MS Excel, MS Word, MS Outlook. Previous knowledge of a MRP or ERP system like SAP or Oracle would be advantageous.
  • Ability to stand for 8 hours.
  • Ability to lift up to 20kg to waist and/or shoulder height.
  • Bending and reaching as needed to get parts and assemble product.
  • Grasping and manipulation using both hands.
  • Repetitive lifting over shoulder height - maximum of 1.5kg.
