Job Description

The Project Manager will report into the PMO and have full responsibility for delivery of the new platform.

Main duties and responsibilities:

    • Supervise the work of key project personnel as needed to ensure efficient and effective completion of the assigned project
    • Responsible for managing the project communications ensuring that any issues, changes or required performances that impact the project are documented and addressed
    • Act as a liaison between key business areas, the project and the IT Department to ensure that the business needs are met with the most appropriate technical solution, including managing the expectations of the business relating to timescales and functionality
    • Ensure that the solution or work required meets the expectations of the business in respect of timescales and functionality. If not, then ensure effective communication to reach an agreed compromise on both sides
    • Responsible for the identification, communication and mitigation of any risks associated with the project
    • Responsible for the effective communication and management of the project scope within the team / resources allocated to the project (this includes external resources such as contractors and third parties). Provides a point of contact for clarification / decision for the development items / issues that might impact the scope of the work effort
    • Responsible for the quality of all deliverables and performance throughout the duration of the project. Schedules and attends relevant project-related meetings. Collaborates with the project team to create the project plan
    • Manages the project plan, ensuring all agree deliverable dates are met
    • Maintains the "fiscal health" of the project by monitoring and managing the project budget
    • Working closely with the Programme Management Office and other appropriate colleagues to ensure the project has a robust benefits and business case to achieve agreed levels of Return on Investment
    • Reporting to the PMO in accordance with the firm's governance and reporting requirements

The Successful Applicant

The ideal Project Manager candidate will be a competent leader with experience in projects / implementing e-Strategy solutions sponsored by a Marketing Communications and Business Development team. The candidate must be able to understand business and change management needs and will have experience of implementing complex digital projects working across multiple business functions and teams and geographies.

You will be/have:

  • Comprehensive track record of e-Strategy project implementations
  • Experience of working in a professional services, or legal environment within a programme team
  • Demonstrable experience in business change implementations
  • Demonstrable experience of delivering Marketing Communications and Business Development led projects
  • Experience of working with teams internationally preferred
  • Degree level qualified
  • Project Management qualification
  • Based in Birmingham with travel to London and throughout the UK
