About Our Client

A traditional law firm, with an excellent and loyal client base in an affluent area.

Job Description

We speak regularly with a number of junior/mid level property solicitors who are disgruntled with their current role but are frustrated with the lack of different options in the market - every property role on the face of it appears the same and most teams are busy so can't promise a better work/life balance.

We are working with a traditional law firm on the outskirts of Birmingham who are looking to bring a Property Solicitor on board to work within their commercial and residential property team, focusing on landlord & tenant and development work.

The firm has an excellent culture and prides itself on its retention of staff and promoting from within. They have also had success bringing in solicitors from large Birmingham city centre firms who wanted to do something different who have now progressed to the top of the firm.

The role itself can be fluid - you'd be working with the senior Property lawyer within the wider property team. The firm specialise in both residential and commercial property. This role will be focused more on commercial property/development work due to an increasing workload and a development client who has a large pipeline and projects for the future which the firm will be instructed on.

They'd like the person to come in and deal with the existing workload but also play an important role in fronting the relationship with this developer. So if you're frustrated with the lack of your own clients, then this role can offer you something different.

The teams are relatively small so there is a big chance for you to make an impression and mould your career.

The firm is full service with a commercial/corporate team, litigation, private client, family and property. It's also a regional firm and outside of the city centre so the firm has a genuine work/life balance - there are no late nights here.

The Successful Applicant

You will be a Property solicitor focusing on either commercial or residential development work. You may want to get involved with more leasehold work and thus be keen to make the step up to focusing on a new area of law.

It is likely you have trained at a high street or regional firm but our client would be particularly interested in lawyers who are working in the city centre and frustrated with work / life balance.
