Job Description

As the Purchasing Manager you will be based in County Durham is required to create purchasing policy and procedures and on lead key projects to support the business growth & development. Supporting a Global Client base.

Within this facility you will be tasked with leading the purchasing function by creating robust policy and procedures, setting up and managing low cost country & far east supply chains.

  • Managing Suppliers to achieve improving service and supplier relationships
  • Sourcing of new suppliers - China, low cost country
  • Create and develop purchasing matrices which inform and validate decisions.
  • Plan, develop & lead annual cost reduction plans and strategies
  • Lead new model sourcing activities - ensuring target costs are met.
  • Manage all purchasing & associated data analysis activities

This is a stand alone role reports into the Supply Chain & Operations Director

The Successful Applicant

As the Purchasing Manager based in County Durham you will have:

  • Set up and manage low cost country supplier chains - China
  • Develop and create purchasing policy and procedures
  • Outsourced manufacturing
  • Ideally MCIPS
  • 5+ years experience
