About Our Client

Our client, based in Sheffield, are a small/medium organisation who have experienced over 10% growth year on year over the last three. This business imports electrical goods from the Far East and are looking to create this new role of Purchasing Specialist to manage and develop their current procurement strategy and process.

Job Description

This role of Purchasing Specialist will be responsible for sourcing products from the Far East and will include some of the following duties:

  • Sourcing new products

  • Sourcing new suppliers

  • Negotiating better prices and overall cost of products

  • Building stronger relationships with new and existing suppliers

  • Some UK / Far East travel will be expected (trade shows etc).

The Successful Applicant

Ideally the successful candidate for the role of Purchasing Specialist will have:

  • Formal education (desirable not essential)
  • Held a similar position previously - with Far East Sourcing responsibility
  • An understanding of purchasing strategy (Ideally CIPS qualified or equivalent)
  • The ability to demonstrate achievements in previous similar roles (supplier relationship management, cost savings, new product sourcing etc.)
