Job Description

The QRM Liquidity Manager will have the following responsibilities:

  1. Being an advanced QRM user, including knowledge of model development and implementation (ETL layer, portfolio, market and assumption sets, products, liquidity overlays, liquidity overlay trees, planning and portfolio runs, strategy, trees, periodicity).
  2. Designing and producing reports within QRM, including customised report books.
  3. Developing required liquidity frameworks in QRM, with specific focus on LCR implementation.
  4. Running, maintain and upgrading, as appropriate, the existing retrospective and prospective stress testing already implemented in QRM, including producing the required MI.
  5. Collaboration with liquidity experts within the Treasury team to ensure all models/frameworks are satisfying regulatory requirements, best industry practices and Bank's requirements.
  6. Production of all required ALCO MI and any other MI required for supporting liquidity management within the Bank.
  7. Understanding the liquidity measurement and management frameworks with specific focus on latest regulatory requirements (LCR, NSFR).
  8. Understanding the banking and treasury products, specifically their liquidity characteristics and treatment under regulatory regimes (Liquidity asset Buffer (LAB), HQLA, haircuts).
  9. Understanding of stress testing frameworks (i.e. idiosyncratic, market-wide, systematic, combined).
  10. Familiarity with the PRA regulatory liquidity reporting templates.

The Successful Applicant

The QRM Liquidity Manager needs the following skills and experience:

The following knowledge, skills and experience is necessary to perform this role:

  • Higher qualification in a quantitative discipline such as Mathematics, Physics, Finance or equivalent professional qualification or experience.
  • Practical experience of using QRM as an advanced user - navigating the QRM with ease.
  • In depth understanding of the ETL process: account link, data source views and transformations.
  • Understanding of product and account layers within QRM; knowing how to set up a new product and the impact this will have on strategies that will be run.
  • Usage and understanding of: liquidity overlays, liquidity overlay tree's, collateral haircut look up tables, collateral haircut trees, global discreet dimensions, planning periodicities and how each of these elements link to an appropriate strategy.
  • Ability to create new strategy within QRM. Ability to update of an existing strategy (i.e. rolling forward of balances or changing of bottom up growth / reinvestment decisions).
  • Ability to run targeted incremental processing in QRM.
  • QRM model building experience including: creating reporting tree's, creating global custom reporting dimensions, setting up new strategy, creating planning periodicities to link to new strategy, defining property sets, configuring strategy.
  • Experience in developing and implementing modelling solutions independently and working with multiple stakeholders.
  • Good attention to detail and ability to manage 'large' volumes of data.
  • Highly competent in Microsoft Office.
  • Treasury experience, particularly with regard to liquidity management
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines and pressure whilst delivering high quality output.
  • Well organised and able to prioritise workload in line with tight deadlines and work effectively under pressure.
  • Exceptional communication skills - ability to communicate effectively with anyone in any environment, e.g. able to translate complex / technical issues to meet the competency levels of the audience. Ability to explain complex system data simply.
