About Our Client

My client is a tier 1 aerospace company based within Surrey and is looking for a Quality Engineer to join the quality department.

Job Description

The success Quality Engineer will have the following responsibilities:

  • Manage and promote Health and Safety Regulations and ensure they are complied with.
  • Ensure all parts are delivered to the required level of quality by ensuring all team members understand what is required and are delivering at that level.
  • Ensure all parts are completed by the required date.
  • Monitor performance against target on a daily and weekly basis and take action to understand and resolve problems as quickly and as permanently as possible.
  • Continuously identify and deliver actions to improve efficiency by eliminating and/or dramatically reducing the largest causes of non-quality.
  • Contribute to improving the quality of designs and planning data by raising WQs as appropriate.
  • Supporting personnel by troubleshooting and problem-solving. Permanent solutions should always be sought and encouraged whenever possible.
  • Supporting induction and application of any necessary on-job training, or re-training that is required, including organisation of training of apprentices or new trainees.
  • Promote and encourage Lean Working Practices. Implement and constantly demand cleanliness in your areas of responsibility. Attend any Courses identified by the Company.
  • Consistently promote Company policy and its vision for the future. Understand and ensure compliance with Company Operating Procedures.
  • Seek opportunities to enhance the quality management system.
  • You may be required to work away from home or possibly abroad should the need arise.

The Successful Applicant

To be considered the successful Quality Engineer should have:

  • Working knowledge of EASA Part 21 Subpart G/J, EASA Part 145 & AS9100 regulations and standards.
  • Strong exposure within the aviation industry.
  • Approved internal auditor.
  • Good knowledge of Airbus & Boeing specifications. GRESS & GRAMS knowledge would be beneficial.
  • Working knowledge of FMEA & root cause analysis/problem solving techniques.
  • Six sigma knowledge.
  • Computer literate with Microsoft office and MRP systems skills.
  • Good leadership and communication skills essential.
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement.
