About Our Client

Our client are a manufacturing business based in Gloucestershire and are looking for an experienced Quality manager to join to their busy fast paced environment.

Job Description

  1. To continually develop, manage and control all aspects of the company Quality Management System (QMS), ensure that processes needed for it to operate effectively are established, implemented and maintained.
  2. To champion the development of a "quality comes first" culture. Communicate and share the company quality policies and philosophy to key personnel in the company and promote the awareness of customer requirements throughout the organization.
  3. Establish mechanisms for the timely reporting and analysis of process quality data and recommend / co ordinate / facilitate continuous improvement activities.
  4. Establish and implement the necessary communication strategy for the improvement and awareness of quality issues within site and the group. Brief the manufacturing team on quality performance and inform senior management of significant developments identified during quality control activities.
  5. Ensure that an internal audit programme is adopted to verify that the QMS conforms to planned expectations and is effectively implemented and maintained. Ensure that appropriate action is taken when this is not the case.
  6. Implement quality training programs for key quality & manufacturing personnel and supply chain partners.
  7. Liaise with customers and suppliers as necessary in relation to quality performance and issues arising.
  8. Liaise and cooperate with quality management and standards bodies ensuring compliance to all relevant requirements. Monitor, inform, communicate and apply relevant standards created, modified and maintained by external bodies and integrate within the company quality management system. Report as necessary on performance against and changes in, standards / requirements.
  9. Plan and manage departmental activities in accordance with agreed budget and timescales
  10. Develop accurate, challenging Departmental goals and monitor and control your personal Goal deployment plans and those of your individual direct reports.

The Successful Applicant

  • Knowledge of quality standards and their application within manufacturing environment.
  • The ability to train and coach new / existing departmental employees in quality philosophies, techniques and improvement methodologies.
  • Degree level qualification in a Business Management or related field
  • Prior experience as Quality Manager of an ISO9001 or an ISO/TS16949 accredited manufacturing company.
  • Six Sigma Trained desirable
  • Prior experience within a Kaizen / Lean manufacturing environment
  • Quality management tools - Six Sigma, SPC, 8D etc

What's on Offer

£50,000 - £55,000 + upto 12% bonus, 3% pension, company car or car allowance
