Job Description

Maintaining and developing an employer-led service that meets the needs of employers and stakeholders within the King's Cross development

 Providing support to local employers to access local candidates through the development of recruitment drives and input into training programmes

 Managing, motivating and developing a small team of staff to meet targets including;

o developing and maintaining client and stakeholder satisfaction

o securing employment and apprenticeships opportunities

o candidate recruitment and screening

o job starts

o delivery and commissioning of training and employability programmes

 Developing and implementing annual business plans and quarterly work programmes

 Working with, and reporting to, Argent's Project Director to ensure that King's Cross Recruit meets the section 106 requirements as laid out in the Support Plan and any subsequent amendments

 Managing the King's Cross Recruit budget and finances including;

o financial planning

o financial reporting (including quarterly claims)

o preparation of budgets and cash flows

o ensuring good value for money is achieved

o seeking funding and income generation opportunities

 Managing the maintenance of a database of local employers and candidates, robust systems, policies and procedures including monitoring and management frameworks, and writing regular reports for the Board

 Organising recruitment events, community outreach activities and marketing campaigns aimed at employers and candidates

The Successful Applicant




Significant experience of managing and motivating staff to deliver targets and meet key performance indicators within a high performance culture


Experience of partnership working and multi-agency approaches to project delivery including working with senior stakeholders (e.g. Chief Executives)


Experience of business planning, budget preparation and budget management within an SME environment


Experience of being the public face of an organisation and of developing promotion and PR initiatives


Significant experience of working with blue chip/national employers and SMEs, and establishing excellent working relationships


Experience of developing and maintaining management information systems


Experience of working with local authorities and third sector organisations


Significant experience of working within the recruitment sector including management level experience.



Professional qualifications e.g. Management or HR qualifications



A team player with a flexible attitude and adaptable in day-to-day activities, with a 'hands-on' approach.


Self-motivated and well organised with the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines and the ability to manage multiple priorities and produce high quality work


Excellent oral, written communication and interpersonal skills including the effective use and analysis of statistics


Able to work effectively with a range of stakeholders.


Able to demonstrate absolute discretion when dealing with sensitive/confidential information/issues.


Knowledge of the welfare to work environment and the needs of unemployed people


Knowledge of Camden and Islington training/education/employment services providers
