My client is one of the UK's leading Logistics Businesses with over 40 sites in the UK and Europe and over 5,000 staff. The Business offers 3PL and Warehousing for some of the UK's biggest brands. With a strong heritage, my client is a well know brand in the UK.

Job Description

As Recruitment Manager you will contribute to the strategic direction of the business people and recruitment strategy; developing a consistently high performing and value adding Recruitment function. Responsible for developing the recruitment business model under the Academy banner; leading on the proactive and efficient delivery of current and future roles.

Accountable for delivering on annual vacancy fill targets and championing the highest standards of strategic and operational support to internal clients across all business sectors.

In this role you will be responsible for;

  • Design, develop and maintain the recruitment process within the business (including its description, recruitment measurement definitions, regular measurement reporting, taking proper action to close gaps)
  • Design the selection matrix for choosing the optimum recruitment channel and recruitment source
  • Explore the market best practices for recruitment and staffing and implement appropriate best practices into the business
  • Build a quality relationship with the internal customers and external recruitment partners (e.g. recruitment and advertising agencies)
  • Monitor and effectively manage the costs of the recruitment process
  • Set the marketing, advertising and social media communication strategy for different job profiles and functions within the business
  • Conduct job interviews on occasion for key roles within the business
  • Monitor relevant employment legislation and implement required changes to keep the process compliant
  • Manage and develop the team of Recruiters; ensuring the team is delivering to full capacity and potential
  • Work with HR Business Partners to deliver on succession / people plans across the sectors; supporting the Recruiters to build a network of talent
  • Develop workforce planning strategy to ensure the business is able to deliver on its short and long term objectives; working with HR Business Partners to generate information, analysing it to inform future demand for people and skills and translating that into a set of actions to develop and build on the business's existing workforce to meet the demand
  • Act as a single point of contact for managers regarding recruitment topics
  • Lead the design of recruitment development and best practice training for Recruiters and Hiring Managers

The Successful Applicant

To be a successful Recruitment Manager in my clients Business you will be competent in the following area;

Demonstrates breadth and depth of experience in recruitment, including competent interviewing skills and working knowledge of online selection materials

Demonstrates knowledge of job boards and using online / offline / social media in recruitment

Experience of leading, managing and developing a high performing team of Recruiters to their full potential

Highly effective analytical and presentation skills, able to engage, persuade and influence to a senior level and present complicated information and ideas concisely

Strong business acumen with the ability and experience of analysing markets and business development

Excellent written communication skills with excellent English Grammar and the ability to communicate persuasively to a senior level in written format including business proposal writing

Good working knowledge of basic UK employment law in relation to recruiting individuals legally

Computer confident, proactive and enjoys learning new IT systems, good/ intermediate/ advanced skills and knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint

Experience of databases / website communication systems / software for recruitment

Previous experience of a UK / EU Transport and / or Logistics environment; either in-house or 3PL

Experience working within a volume recruitment environment across multiple locations
