Global leading specialist within retail who is operating in more than 40 countries. It is rapidly expanding one of its retail concepts, which is one of its growth engines, in more than 20 countries.The ambition is to have full global coverage, leveraging a smoothly operated "hard franchise model". 

In addition to driving global expansion through a tight franchise model, they also want to look into other business development opportunities such as; airport retail, department stores and regional Master Franchise. Profitability should grow further at the same time.

Having already good level growth behind, we are now looking for an experienced and entrepreneurial Regional Director.

Job Description

The purpose of this role is to ensure that the category is 100% leveraged in the respective region and all countries attached to it. In this context she or he will ensure that an individual strategy is defined, owned by the OpCo's and executed with rigor delivering the Brand global capabilities on the ground. In every store, for every customer and every day!
Today there are 3 regions; Northern Europe, Southern Europe and LATAM. Each region is led by a Senior Vice President with the CEO's of each country and other regional functions (e.g. regional finance) in matrix structure.
Now and in order to substantially strengthen the future delivery of the n category in each OpCo, the regional director sun will be part of that regional leadership team. This level of representation and being peer to the country CEO's and other regional functional leaders will provide the right platform to prioritize the agenda with the right stakeholders on the right level.
The candidate will report directly to the VP Sun and have a dotted line to the SVP of the respective region. In addition she or he will be part of the Management Team.
With this set up in place, the candidate takes the accountability to grow the Sun business inside all stores and leveraging growth opportunities outside own stores working/partnering with the local teams. Today and in all regions, there is an untapped potential to grow the brand outside via various store formats, sales channels and business platforms. The potential is huge and the regional director will play a pivotal role to ensure this is captured partnering with the markets. The roles including frequent traveling.

The Successful Applicant

  • Functional Competence: The ideal candidate will bring a sound operational retail back ground ideally in a best in class franchise setting. She or he will bring a strong track record of developing and expanding a small format multi channel retail network coupled with strong commercial, operational and marketing experience. It is essential that the candidate had important P&L responsibility, experience working through others effectively and it would be a plus if operated successfully in a matrix structure.
  • Maximizing on business opportunities and result driven: The successful candidate will not be satisfied with simply achieving goals, but will seek out ways to exceed them with a clear passion for winning in the market and strong operational, hands on mentality. Making things happen despite constraints or unexpected obstacles is an essential capability of the candidate.
  • Working through others: Proven ability to work through others effectively and understanding ways of working in a matrix structure. Excellent facilitator able to unite people with different agenda and background to reach agreed strategy and set objectives.
  • Team Leadership: Demanding but collaborative people manager who can relate easily with local managers and peers. Able to bridge between global and local needs and feedback in both ways in appropriate fashion keeping both camps accountable for delivery.
  • Strong social competencies and interpersonal skills: Able to quickly build solid relationships and trust among the stakeholders. Strong influencer leveraging his passion and drive to reach results. Able to deal with ambiguity possessing a very balanced personality remaining calm in heated situations and staying ahead of things.
  • Hits the ground running - delivering the key success factors in the various countries and making it a commercial success that excites the stakeholders.
