About Our Client

The organisation:

An exciting opportunity has come up for a Management Accountant to join an International Development organisation based in the City of London. In the last eight years they have rapidly grown to an income of £70 million. They have used the money to fund medical research and relief for developing countries.

Job Description

The opportunity:

Management reporting:

  • Budget setting and forecast, and key variance analysis
  • Preparing and circulating the monthly management accounts, including narrative commentary, in accordance with an agreed timetable and format
  • Oversee restrictive funds and the recording of restricted income in the finance system
  • Research management to ensure that research grants are accurately reflected in the month end management accounts in accordance to accounting standards

Financial Reporting:

  • Assisting with bank reconciliations, including VAT and payroll
  • Assistant Financial Controller with the preparation of annual budget
  • Produce and analyse and explain detailed variances

Project management:

  • To take responsibility and manage projects to support external and internal stakeholders
  • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.

The Successful Applicant

Experience required:

Ideally have experience working in an Industry & Commerce background or international development

Newly/fully CIMA qualified accountant

Management accounting in a commercial organisation

Proven experience having worked within tight deadlines
