My client is a market leading Asset Manager with £140Bn AUM based in London.

Job Description

The purpose of the position is to:

  • To manage and be accountable for the credit quality of a portfolio of commercial mortgage loans and to assume responsibility for the management of associated borrower relationships
  • To undertake an annual review of the credit quality of each loan within the portfolio
  • To meet each borrower on an annual basis and to undertake property visits
  • To monitor and report on loan covenant compliance on a quarterly basis
  • To negotiate finance documents from credit approval of agreed heads of terms through to completion
  • To negotiate relevant legal documentation in relation to loan events
  • To underwrite any loan events and to prepare approval papers for presentation to credit committee
  • To follow up any new business origination leads with portfolio borrowers and to introduce to the Origination team for underwriting and credit approval
  • To minimise where possible early loan repayments and to maximise rollover of maturing loans

The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate for the position will:

  • Degree or equivalent
  • Investment Management Certificate / FCA registration
  • Relevant post-graduate qualification
  • UK secured property lending market
  • Strong real estate loan documentation (preferably LMA standard) and execution capability
  • Strong credit and real estate underwriting skills
  • Innovative thinker with an ability to execute ideas into reality
  • Autonomous, detailed focused individual
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Negotiation skills
  • Presentation skills
  • Report writing skills
  • Loan management including preparing annual credit reviews, quarterly compliance certificates and dealing with borrower amendment and waiver requests
  • Preparing credit approval papers
  • Negotiating and closing commercial mortgage loan documentation
  • Preparing and presenting to credit committees, borrowers and third-party investors
