Job Description



  • Heads the annual salary review process and bonus planning in the UK
  • Working with the International HRD to have an oversight of the international remuneration mechanisms with a view to creating alignment across the firm, including Partner remuneration, international bonus etc
  • Keeps up to date and networks with external suppliers to ensure the employee proposition is best in class and differentiates us in the market Benefits
  • Proactively manages the UK employee benefits policies and provide guidance to HRBPs to ensure that the benefits remain competitive and are compliant with legal and regulatory requirements
  • Manages the UK Pension scheme to ensure that it operates effectively, is governed and complies with regulatory standards e.g. auto enrolment
  • Advises and guides the HRBP team in actively managing complex PHI claims
  • Develops an effective communication strategy for the benefits platform ensuring clarity for new joiners (through induction) and all employees
  • Delivers and implements an online benefits portal, introducing new benefits where appropriate
  • Leads the annual salary review process and bonus planning in the UK, working alongside HRBPs, providing guidance to the board
  • Delivers advice on benchmarking data for the UK across the practice and business services (and other offices where appropriate)
  • Develops an informative market knowledge base to advise and guide the firm on reward and benefit developments in the external market


  • Designs and implements a global mobility policy internationally to ensure a consistent experience for every Partner or employee when they are seconded
  • Develops expertise and acts as first point of contact for international mobility issues e.g. visa / tax / secondment package
  • Manages external relationships with providers to ensure best in class delivery of services to all secondees


  • Oversees and delivers the monthly Payroll in conjunction with the outsourced bureau
  • Responsible for the interface with the managed payroll bureau; ensuring the service is delivered in line with the agreed SLA's
  • Ensures integrity of the payroll system, data and functionality; ensures the system updates and upgrades are made where required
  • Works with the accounting team to help with any complex queries on the account reconciliations
  • Performs internal audits of various payroll areas, where appropriate, for external and internal auditors
  • Keeps up to date and ensures compliance on key laws, proactively liaising with HR to identify payroll changes and ensure compliance with HMRC regulations as well as internal business procedures
  • Designs effective reporting tools and metrics and communicates key business trends and implications on a regular basis

The Successful Applicant

  • Must have experience of managing and outsourced/in house Payroll
  • Must have experience in delivering and managing employee and Partner benefits.
  • Experience in the management of pension and benefit providers and flexible benefit schemes and has managed an employee benefits portal
  • Knowledge and experience of bonus schemes
  • Experience in managing international secondments would be advantageous
  • Ability to cope with change and meet challenging deadlines under pressure
