Job Description

  • Evaluating and monitoring the finances of a portfolio of companies consisting of largely airlines and some tour operators.

  • Producing comprehensive Risk Reports. These Reports include an in depth assessment of the portfolio companies' management, strategy, operations current financial positions. They are the basis for making licensing decisions.

  • Evaluating the financial forecasts of each portfolio company with specific focus on liquidity. Identifying any potential risks and performing sensitivity analysis.

  • Building and maintaining relationships with the (senior) management of the portfolio companies.

  • Developing and maintaining complex financial and analytical models.

  • Taking a leading role in handling problem cases (e.g. licence holders in financial distress).

  • Taking a leading role in managing projects.

  • Making licensing decision within delegated authority.

  • Line managing and coaching junior members.

  • Providing oral and written presentations on individual company and industry issues identified and making clear and concise recommendations on future action to senior management; the Board; Government departments; and insurance companies.

The Successful Applicant

The candidate must have experience in corporate finance, credit analysis and/or restructuring, likely to be gained from a Consultancy (ie Big Four) or Banking background. Specific additional experience will include:

  • Strong knowledge of accounting and corporate finance;
  • Good understanding of lending facilities and loan documentation;
  • Ability to analyse and interpret non-financial information;
  • Strong Excel and financial modelling skills;
  • Strong communication and influencing skills;
  • Ability to build and maintain external and internal relationships (at senior level);
  • Ability to share skills and knowledge and to work as part of a team;
  • Excellent analytical problem solving skills;
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to structure problems cases;
  • Ability to work autonomously and to complete projects with minimal supervision;
  • Potential to lead other team members;
  • Good organisational skill;
  • Ability to conduct high quality, predictive and soundly based business and financial analysis;
  • A proactive and flexible attitude.
