They are now looking for a highly accomplished senior sales professional to lead their prestigious sales team.

Job Description

As Sales & Marketing Director you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the sales department, whilst maintaining focus on the company's strategic goals. You will forecast and deliver growth for the company whilst providing vision and direction for the company brand

The successful Sales and Marketing Director will focus on developing measurable results in all sectors throughout the UK and through international channels. Leading a UK team of BDM's, BDE's and a lead generation function, you will focus on customer application, delivery, satisfaction and quality requirements alongside driving sales.

This role requires an entrepreneurial mind-set and a self-starter with a track record in the technology or digital marketing sector to hit the ground running. You will be responsible for winning new business and upselling to existing clients whilst leading a talented and dynamic team.

Key responsibilities will be to:

  • Maximise sales turnover and profitability
  • P&L responsibility
  • Drive business development activity
  • Take ownership for own sales pipeline
  • Identify and understand end use application needs
  • Conduct market research and look to uncover potential for future products through on-going visits to customers and potential customers, as well as end users
  • Market mapping and identifying key customers
  • Working closely with the internal support functions
  • Ensure annual sales budgets are achieved
  • Support, train and develop experienced sales professionals
  • Recruitment and targeting of sales team
  • Prepare presentations and other educational documents
  • Ensure that all commercial aspects of sales transaction are in the best interest of the company

The Successful Applicant

The Successful Sales and Marketing Director will be results driven and have the technical ability to understand customer problems and create solutions.

The Sales and Marketing Director will:

  • Have experience of working in a technology or digital sales environment.
  • Have a track record of leading and developing sales teams whilst being comfortable carrying their own target.
  • Have experience of analysing customer needs and creating solutions.
  • Exposure to spin based sales training would be beneficial
  • May come from either a large organisation or, preferably, from an SME, but ideally should have experience in and an understanding of working in small organisations.
  • Be someone who wants to grow their business and maintain an entrepreneurial streak.
  • The ability to plan strategically with strong commercial acumen.
  • Proven track record in a technology led solution sales leadership role in a related industry.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to undertake travel.
  • An open and likeable personality with honesty and integrity.
  • Autonomous approach with a positive 'can do' attitude.
  • Be commutable to Yorkshire
