Job Description

Reporting to the Managing Director, the Sales Director will come up with and implement a group sales strategy across the Country and South of the border to run all sales operations through; the area sales managers and subsequent sales teams across the business.

Working as part of the Leadership board Team, the Sales Director role will play a pivotal part in the company to grow and develop the business in order to successfully achieve the plan.

The role will involve but not limited to:

  • Lead the sales management team in the development of main client accounts with a focus on growth
  • Accountable for sales, customer retention and development strategy
  • Develop a strong and robust strategy to move the business forward, including identifying new opportunities through business development and marketing
  • Working closely with and understanding the clients; you will also be required to look to identify and develop new customers by working alongside the operational teams
  • Indirectly through an established management structure support the managing of dedicated field sales and business development teams.
  • Continue to keep the culture and appetite for new business - exciting and engaging
  • Attending multiple trade shows across the UK

The Successful Applicant

The successful Sales Director will have a track record of success selling a technical/plant solution, with experience in pitching to stakeholders at all levels. You will have a firm grasp of how to build long term client relationships using consultative sales techniques to ensure the budgets and growth plans are achieved.

As Sales Director you need to demonstrate the following key competences

  • Leadership: Positively influence others to achieve results that are in the best interest of the Company
  • Behave Ethically: Understand ethical behaviour and business practices and ensure own behaviour and the behaviour of others is consistent with these standards and aligns with the values of the Company
  • Strategic Thinking: Assesses options and actions based on trends and conditions in the environment, and the vision and values of the Company
  • Man-management, you will need to show your people development skills across different levels of sales personal.
  • Relationships: Establish and maintain positive working relationships with others both internally and externally to achieve the goals of the Company
  • Communicate Effectively: Speak, listen and write in a clear, thorough and timely manner using appropriate and effective communication tools and techniques
  • Customer Focus: Anticipate, understand, and respond to the needs of internal and external customers to meet or exceed their expectations
  • Industry: Detailed knowledge of the Construction industry.
  • Compliance & Governance: ensure compliance with relevant legal and statutory requirements, meet principles of sound corporate governance and internationally accepted environmental, health, safety and quality standards
  • Qualifications: relevant degree would be an advantage
