Leading mid-tier bank with several banking units operating in London.

Job Description

This role covers both preparation and review of the MI reporting of two principal London legal entities with a wide and diverse range of business products including: Money Market, Equities, Derivatives, Fixed Income, Corporate Lending and Precious and Base Metals.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Oversee the development, maintenance and delivery of Management Information (MI) to support London Executive Committee, Business and Support Heads.
  • Review/prepare the key monthly Executive Committee financial summary, EXCO.
  • Assist with production of the quarterly board reports and papers on an ad hoc basis.
  • Preparation of the annual Expense forecast/plan process for the Front Office and Support Groups liaising with Support and Business Line heads.
  • Perform periodic expense analyses and review monthly expense packs before distribution to Front Office and Support groups including comparison to plan.
  • Review daily, weekly and monthly production of Corporate Banking and Group Treasury MI reporting and oversee publication of daily Flash revenue results to Executive.
  • Produce reports, reviews and analysis as required and provide ad hoc support to all business lines.
  • Manage a team of qualified accountants.

The Successful Applicant

  • The incumbent must have a sound accounting background, ideally with 5 years' experience in a wholesale banking environment.
  • Being a member of a recognised UK accounting body is an advantage.
  • The role will require a very good knowledge of the various business products supported by strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, verbal, written and listening are a requirement.
  • MI reporting is software based and requires an advanced knowledge of MS Excel to macro level.
  • Visual Basic (VBA) programming experience would be an advantage.
  • Excellent mentoring skills are essential to support the activities and advancement of the direct report.
