About Our Client

Our client is a global top tier investment bank with its headquarters in one of  Europe’s capitals. In order to strengthen its global presence in M&A it is looking to build a (global) coverage industry team based in Frankfurt, Germany. Therefore the bank is looking for a Senior Associate  as well as a Senior Analyst  based in Frankfurt, Germany. 

Job Description

  • Perform valuation analysis and financial modeling for prospective and live transactions globally with a strong industry focus
  • Assist in the development and production of proposals and presentations to clients and prospects from industry sector
  • Interact with members of corporate management team and financial sponsors
  • Execute detailed tasks involved in all phases of M&A and private placement engagements;
  • You will need to assist senior members and liaise with the in-house lawyer and legal teams as well as external lawyers regarding legal matters and ensure that transactions are in line with legal requirements
  • Serve as lead role in providing financial, business and market analysis with a special emphasis on reformatting financial statements and benchmarking key performance metrics
  • Manage the workflow and provide coaching to junior team members (for Senior Associates only)
  • Regular contact with other internal teams within the bank to ensure smooth running of execution process
  • To conduct research and analysis on the Bank’s clients and prospects as well as industry sub-sectors and contribute ideas for those clients and prospects. 
  • Other responsibilities and projects as assigned.

The Successful Applicant

  • At least a Bachelor’s degree from a leading university or business school in finance, business administration or a related field
  • Experience as a Senior Analyst  or Senior Associate in investment banking in a top tier bank or top tier boutique (ideally in an M&A role) covering an industry sector (it is a must).
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills including experience in valuation, financial modeling and analysis. Financial modeling skills and business strategy execution skills are a must.
  • Applying understanding of accounting rules and standards to evaluate income statements, cash flow statements, balance sheet and schedule of accounts to model and analyze cash flows, growth, margins, profitability, liquidity, leverage, and accounting-specific
  • Significant transaction experience.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint capabilities.
  • Outstanding interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Fluent in English (German not needed!) and a second/third language is beneficial 
  • Strong project management skills and attention to detail.
